Upgrading your plan¶

Upgrading from Free to a paid plan requires completing a one-time payment setup. After that, all future payments happen automatically.

Who can upgrade¶

Only the workspace owner can change the subscription plan.

How to upgrade¶

Open MatStream Manage and go to your workspace
Click Change plan on the workspace card
Select the plan you want to upgrade to
Enter the number of editor seats you need

How many seats do I need?

One seat = one editor. The workspace owner always has a seat. Add one seat for each additional person who needs to create or edit entities. Viewers do not need a seat.
Check the live cost preview — it shows your monthly total and the amount due today for your first full billing month
Click Confirm change
You are redirected to the MatStream payment page

The payment page¶

The payment page shows a summary of your first invoice, which covers a full month from your payment date.

Click Pay to be taken to our secure payment provider (Mollie). You will enter your card or bank details there — MatStream never sees or stores your payment information.

After completing the payment:

Your plan is activated immediately
Your payment date becomes your monthly billing anchor
Your payment method is saved for automatic future billing
You receive a confirmation email

First invoice¶

Your first invoice covers a full month from the date you pay — not a prorated fraction of the current calendar month.

Example: You upgrade on the 20th of March. 3 editor seats × €19.95/month = €59.85 Shared hosting = €9.95 Subtotal = €69.80 VAT 21% = €14.66 Total first payment = €84.46

Your next invoice is generated on the 20th of April, and every month thereafter on the 20th.

Automatic recurring billing¶

After your first payment, MatStream charges your saved payment method automatically on your billing date each month. You will receive an invoice by email 7 days before each charge as a reminder.

You do not need to do anything — the charge happens in the background.

Changing your seat count¶

You can increase or decrease your editor seat count at any time from the Change plan dialog.

Adding seats — takes effect immediately. The extra seats are prorated from today to your next billing date and added to your next invoice.

Removing seats — takes effect from the next billing period. No refund is issued for the current period. If you have more active editors than your new seat count allows, you will need to revoke access from some editors before the change takes effect.

Upgrading between paid plans¶

If you upgrade from one paid plan to another (for example, Team to Professional), the difference in cost is prorated for the remaining days in your current billing period and charged immediately. Your billing date does not change.

Downgrading to Free¶

You can downgrade back to the Free plan from Change plan. The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your current plan features remain active until that date.

Warning

The Free plan allows only 1 editor (the owner). Before downgrading, ensure your workspace has no other active editors assigned. You can only have one Free workspace — if you already have one, you must delete it before downgrading a second workspace.
